Oprah is going to India and is taking us with her – virtually!

We couldn’t contain our excitement when Harpo Studios called asking to use some of our footage for an upcoming episode of “Oprah’s Next Chapter” on the OWN Network. This Sunday’s episode, 9PM/8Central, is all about Oprah’s travels and exploration of India and it’s people. We were overwhelmed when her producer called us requesting permission to use some of our Indian Wedding footage for transitions during this episode. Since she quit filming her daily show in a studio for the large networks she’s been busy launching her own network, OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network), and now takes her cameras on location for in-depth interviews and explorations in a weekly show, “Oprah’s Next Chapter”. We love this show and can’t believe that some of our work will be highlighted on this Sunday’s segment – especially that it’s all about India. It’s great to see that Oprah appreciates Indian customs, traditions and it’s people as much we do. I know you’ll love the excitement, beauty and vibrant traditions she’ll explore. Fabulous Sangeet with music by The King of Bhangra Daler Mehndi

We were overwhelmed with the refined beauty, explosive colors, high energy and especially the fantastic music at this fabulous Sangeet Celebration for Shivani & Rueben held at The Ritz Carlton Washington DC. Daler Mehndi, The King of Bhangra , this event’s special musical guest, flew in from India to provide his special brand of music. I loved filming this family and their celebration that was over the top with energy, dancing and excitement. It made a great film!

Jodi Moraru & Associates, the Washington, D.C., area’s premiere event-design, planning and management firm, enters the next chapter of its history with the unveiling of a re-branded corporate identity and launch of a new Web site. To commemorate the launch of EVOKE, the firm’s staff, vendors, clients and other guests attended a fabulous soiree on March 11 at the commercial photography studio, Photogroup, in Silver Spring, Md.

“I am extremely grateful to all my vendors for helping me throw this amazing party,” Moraru says. “We all had such a wonderful time. I’m so pleased to start this new phase in our business, and there’s no better way to kick things off than with a memorable celebration.”

Riley’s New York State of Mind

This emotion filled ceremony was a unique Irish/Jewish mix of people, all there to celebrate Riley’s Mitzvah. The guests were pleasantly surprised as they were greeted by bagpipes when entering the temple. The traditional ceremony was followed by a luncheon/reception for all the guests that attended. Plan It Parties designed an awesome room with a New York City chic nightclub effect under a tent which wowed the afternoon crowd! Digital Lightning provided all of the dramatic effects. The fantastic sounds were from a NYC DJ, and the fabulous photography was by David DePas out of Miami, Florida.

For Riley’s evening party with his friends the room was miraculously transformed to a NY Street seen, an urban look complete with street signage, graffitti, benches, just like a street on Broadway. One of the highlights of the party included Riley in the Suburban Video’s music video with Jay Z and Alicia Keys’ “New York State of Mind.”

It was an unforgettable evening for Riley and his family and friends. Great fun was had by all!

Roya and Nima's Beautiful Persian Wedding

Roya and Nima’s Persian Wedding Highlight by Bill Bowen Suburban Video:

I enjoyed the best day of my life celebrating my wedding with Nima at the Mayflower hotel in Washington DC. After so much planning and coordinating, we were so excited to watch all of the details execute as beautifully as they did. I felt like the only girl in the world marrying the only prince in the universe. The entire day was magical, especially since my father was the officiant for my ceremony. It was as if everything happened seamlessly. My only goals was to let my joy shine through and celebrate love with the man I was soon to call my husband.

We were blessed to have such a great team from Bill Bowen at Suburban Video who captured every single moment of my wedding, to Poopak of Exclusively Events, Alison de Wit for my floral arrangements, Moshe Zusman for my photography, DJ Babak for amazing beats all night long, Trio Caliente to start the party during my cocktail hour, the lovely Mayflower Hotel, and my amazing support system of parents who helped me every single step of the way and my Mother (Homa’s Hair Design) who gave me the perfect hairdo.

I’m truly blessed to have experienced something so perfect and so blissful. Thank you to all who were a part of our special day.

You have to watch this gorgeous outdoor wedding…

This beautiful film was shot right after all the weeks of rain, clouds, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes and flooding. We were overjoyed to film this gorgeous Jewish wedding at the Cylburn Arboretum in Baltimore, MD. The sun was bright and the sunny flowers reflected the bright sunny smiles of the bridal party and all the guests. We loved filming this beautiful couple as they exchanged vows under the rustic chuppah artfully decorated with cabbage roses and vines. The day felt like a gorgeous spring day when the sun’s shining bright after a long winter – adding to the joy everyone experienced. We loved this wedding so much we did this short, next-day edit to share with you. The Bride’s expression during the Hora is priceless! I loved watching everyone dance under the double tent and the beautiful surroundings. Actually, I love, love, love everything about this wedding. I know you’ll love this film too.

We’ve hit a milestone on YouTube – 3 million views! We are so humbled and amazed that our films have garnered such interest. Our destination weddings seem to be our biggest draw – from Germany to Canada, as well as Cabo San Lucas, Canada, St. Thomas, Arubu, The Netherlands and Hawaii in the US. Our Persian and Indian weddings also attract a lot of attention.
